• I'm frustrated. I like the outline of the boy, the contouring. But the face...ehhh frustrated. frustrated.

  • hmmmm....All along I've been thinking I would put vellum over part of the drawing and then redraw the child on top. I wanted to draw everything first and see how I felt. I'm convinced. I'll play with the vellum tomorrow. It should reinforce the ledge line and push the top of the father figure back some.

  • well, the child looks creepy right now...that will change. I'll do my best to keep from looking like the little boy from the Grudge movie. I'm a little disappointed I didn't make more progress today...

  • I have begun a new series. Well, it's a triptych. I've recently finished a great little book titled: Sit, Walk, Stand, by Watchman Nee and I loved it. I will do a piece based on each part of the book. This pic is the progress of "Sit". The book is a short comprehensive (oxymoron?) study of the book of Ephesians in the Bible (too many prepositional phrases) I'm rereading the book as a draw. The Sit section has had the largest impact on me. Christianity begins with a big "DONE". "We began our Christian life by depending not upon our own doing but upon what he had done. Until a man does this he is no Christian." (p.15) Anything we do as a Christian always begins with a resting in God. "Sitting" is an attitude of rest. Our given position in Christ is with Christ seated at the right hand of God. Ephesians 1:17-21 and 2:6-9 There's a mystery and a wonder to such a precious perspective.
